AEBIOM Workshop “Bioenergy within the National Renewable Energy Action Plans” within EUSEW 2010, March 25, Brussels
Objective of the workshop was to help the member states to set up the right strategy for bioenergy in their renewable energy action plans (REAP), through comprehensive targets (focus on small scale heat and biogas) and effective measures to support market development, and addressing the biomass supply. The workshop was targeted at national officials that are involved in setting up the national action plans.

European Meetings
Third European Expert Meeting, 7 October 2009, Brussels
The BAP Driver project is functioning as a discussion platform for implementing bioenergy strategies. This workshop aimed at informing policy makers in biomass with:
• the latest developments from the EC about the national Renewable Energy Action plans (nREAP)
• sharing stimulating examples and having discussions about the ‘work in progress’ on creating the nREAP, specifically on the bio-energy related parts
• findings and results from the BAP-driver project

Second European Expert Meeting, 10 December 2008, Berlin
This meeting had two main objectives. In the morning sessions the BAP Driver best practice report was reviewed. Valuable comments were collected on the applicability and validity of best practise cases from benchmark countries selected. The EU best practice report is available in the Best practices section. The afternoon session was used to create a template for Biomass Action Plans by working with a draft version of the template and discussions on improvements.

First European Expert meeting, 9 April 2008, Brussels
40 experts from the 8 countries attended the meeting. The main objectives of the meeting were: discussion platform for implementing bioenergy strategies; enlarge the bioenergy network within Europe; policy and best practice experiences of bioenergy from each country. The workshop concluded with prioritising the desired actions, resulting in a top priority list of points for action.
